Healthy Youth Relationships

Healthy Youth Relationships is a Red Cross: RespectED program delivered by Wellspring Family Resource & Crisis Centre.

It examines healthy and unhealthy peer romantic relationships, focusing on dispelling stereotypes and building both communication and prevention skills.

It is intended for youth ages twelve to eighteen.

Healthy Youth Relationships looks at healthy and unhealthy peer romantic relationships.

This program helps young people identify:

  • what makes a dating relationship abusive
  • consent, protection and reporting procedures
  • where to find support and community resources
  • healthy dating relationships and supporting behaviours

The workshop reviews the legal definitions and ramifications of physical and sexual assaults. Written scenarios, group work and videos support this information and identify warning signs such as emotional mistreatment.
